While attempting to determine which employees of Mohawk Machinery are deserving of the $1,000 merit pay, I chose to focus primarily on the skill rating that was given to each employee. I did this for a number of reasons. The first being that the remainder of the information did not seem to make much of a difference in regards to how the rating was determined. While approaching this case study, I had originally thought that each department was given a rating based on the level of difficulty of the job (1-7). Once reading further, it was stated that the skills required for each department were very similar, so this should not factor into the decision of who will be rewarded merit pay. I also do not believe factors such as age, race and sex should be taken into consideration while determining bonuses because they could unearth a number of Human Resource issues such as racism, ageism and sexism. To avoid any possible issue, it was best to disregard these columns entirely.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
