Social learning theorist would explain that prejudice is something that is learned from the behavior and teaching of peers, parents and other adults (Feldman, 2013). Children are not born prejudiced, but they can learn to discriminate by watching the people around them who may be reinforcing this behavior. Prejudice and stereotypes can also be learned through media and television (Feldman, 2013) People learn stereotypes and prejudice similarly to how they learn social norms, religious beliefs and values (Feldman, 2013). People often look for similarities, but they immediately notice differences. Parents and other people may teach children to that the groups they belong to are superior to all others, while teaching them to dislike people of other groups that they are not a part of (Feldman, 2013).

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
