Some people may think that all leaders who are rashly and readily influenced by shifts in public opinion will achieve little. However, I disagree with the statement because some leaders who tends to be swayed by public opinions might yield successful results in various fields. In politics, leaders should endeavor to follow popular opinions. Take Franklin D. Roosevelt for example. The policy of free market was widely accepted for the economic system before his reign. However, there were some critical drawbacks which the market itself cannot handle, such as value of money and unemployment. These problems eventually led to the Great Depression. Since popular opinion changed to the necessity of government intervention, Roosevelt announced the New Deal policy and started to take control of the market. He put a stop on the inflation and gave the jobless some places to work such as a construction site of the Hoover dam. Therefore, the economy in the U.S. was able to overcome the depression within a few years due to Roosevelt’s agile decision.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
