Surname1 Introduction The hip-hop music was introduced in the American culture in the late 20 th century. 1 This type of genre can be traced back to Jamaican dancehall and reggae music which was very popular in the late 60's. Hip-hop in different dimensions then traveled to America and then later to other parts of the world where it has become a popular genre. It is especially a common thing among the African Americans and the Latinos who appreciate it as their own. It has become a common genre among the people because it is a good way through which they could express their oppression and grievances. 2 It enabled the rappers and singers to reach out to a large number of people and showcase the society rot they are living in and more generally to showcase their abilities. It has, therefore, become a phenomenon among the people. Hip-hop is played with the usage of turntables, mixers and other supporting instruments which makes it an interesting music to listen to. The hip-hop music has created several interesting works in it. The music genre has been characterized by the use of graffiti, breakdance, rapping, gangsta raps and many other works. It should be noted that hip-hop is not necessarily done through rapping, though it has been a major way of doing many hip hop music. 1 Morrell, Ernest, and Jeffrey MR Duncan-Andrade. Surname2 This paper will extensively discuss three important works while comparing and analyzing them to see the effect that they have had in the rap industry. This genre has been all along been seen as something which would come and fade away but the genre has been prominent through the years since the 70’s. Instead, we have seen the genre move from one step to another and only gets better and is here to stay. We have seen rappers evolve to better rappers and each time there is better music being produced. So the music is not a fad and the awareness that the music has created is even beyond the imaginable. 3 In my case, I have not learned about the issue of discrimination and racism in other places rather than through the hip-hop music. I have known many things concerning the life of the black Americans through this kind of music. On the mentioned works created by hip-hop, the most interesting is the dancing part. The dancing has become a more prominent aspect of the music. This paper will look to achieve the difference and similarities between the works that have been evolved by the genre. The paper will first be a discussion of these features of the genre and then have a section of comparison and contrast between the three features.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
