Vertical Differentiation : It is a traditional level of organization, it is a tree level of authority, states that the control and decision making power hold by a person or certain persons. Taking too much of time, this leads to confusion, a person does not know all department knowledge, she /he can suffer to take right decision in right time. But Today modern organization changed the structure, different department have the higher authority they divided the controls and decision making power within themselves, it is making easy for the authority to execute their responsibility without confusion , time consume is less. Horizontal differentiation, separate the control according to their knowledge and experience who make a person being to be a head of the department. It is useful for analyze the organization positive and negative aspects in a broad way includes financial and operational activities. Today, organization needs Horizontal differentiation, because fastest world needs less time consuming differentiation, that is Horizontal differentiation, It is considered to be a effective so its leads huge success in the competition world. Example. HR manager can hold the decision making power under Human resources activities engaged people. Operation manager who holds the decision making power under day to day as well as operational activities. These may lead more success to the organization. 2. Green Furniture could utilize various departmental types, as most companies do. One might be focused on customers, like commercial, retail, or government. Another departmental type might be geographic since it’s located throughout the U.S. Then another departmental type could be product since they may departmentalize based upon designer furniture, classical, wood, metal, or any other variety. Because the majority of companies utilize functional departmentalization.
