Kaira Mellix 4/25/17 History of Motion Pictures Paper #4 Mean Girls For my final paper, I could not, for the life of me figure out what to write my paper on. You gave such a wide range of choices from the 1970s- present. There is at least a hundred, maybe even a thousand movies I could write this paper on. I could have chosen a number of films that we have covered in all thirteen of the modules from this semester. I could have done one of my favorite Studio Ghibli films that I mentioned in my last paper. I could break down and analyze Shrek or just insert the Bee Movie script if I wanted to, but I do not think I want to jeopardize my grade at the end of the semester. My point is that there has been a dozen of movies I have wanted to write about this semester and for this final paper, I wanted to write about a film that was so iconic to my generation. Millennials, who have seen this movie at least over a hundred million times combined; a movie that has had a huge influence on us all since 2004. A film that has become more and more popular than ever with quotes that will never die. A movie that so fantastic that even the sequel will never top it: Mean Girls. Mean Girls was directed by Mark Waters in 2004 and is based on the novel "Queen Bees and Wannabes." It has been nominated twenty-four times for awards and has won seven of them. This film won the Broadcast Music, Inc Film Music Award, won the MTV Movie Award for Best Female Performance, Best On-screen Team, Breakthrough Female, and Best Villain. The Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actress- Comedy, Choice Movie Blush, Choice Breakout Movie Star- Female and got 2nd place in the Gold Derby Award. It is a critically acclaimed film with
