If it is true that “the quest for leadership is first an inner quest to discover who you are,” then what does this mean for aspiring leaders? You first need to understand yourself, know your personal and professional strengths and weaknesses. A leader is never set out to be perfect, as we are all human and have flaws and pasts where mistakes have been made. What this means for aspiring leaders is to remain true and humble, to always stay open and full of wonder. 2. What is meant by this statement: “Leadership is an affair of the heart.” This is the connection of emotionally meeting the needs of the people. Affective leaders are said to appeal to the heart of the people they lead and the love of their position or purpose in their role as leader. They have passion for their job and love what they do. 3. Based on the information you’ve learned from reading these two chapters in your book, are leaders born or is leadership learned? Support your opinion.
