When you share a file or a folder, you determine how others can use your work, because you assign permission to view or to edit files. Share an Excel Workbook Save any workbook to your OneDrive folder by selecting that location in the Save or Save As dialog box in Excel. A workbook must be saved to your OneDrive account before you can share it. When you share the workbook, you enter email addresses and specify a permission level. You can also type a brief message that is included in the notification email. HOW TO: Share a Workbook in Excel ANOTHER WAY You can open the Share pane from the Backstage view. Click the File button, select Share , and then click the Share with People button. 10-43 Share a workbook 1. Save the workbook to your OneDrive folder. You can choose any folder in your OneDrive account. Leave the workbook open. 2. Click the Share button in the upper right corner. The Share pane opens. 3. Type or select email addresses for those with whom you are sharing the workbook. If Outlook is your email program, click the Address Book button to the right of the Invite people box, select recipient names, and click OK . Separate multiple email addresses with semicolons ( ; ). 4. Select Can edit or Can view from the drop-down list. 5. Type an optional message in the Message area (Figure 10-43). 6. Click the Share button. An email is sent to each recipient with a link to your file on OneDrive . The Share pane lists recipient names. You can right-click a recipient name to remove the name from the list or to change the permission.
