Cloud storage means that you are not limited to a single computer and that you do not need to transport files on portable media. When you have a Microsoft account, you also have a OneDrive account. If you don’t have a Microsoft account, create a free account at https://signup.live.com/. You can save, open, and edit documents from your OneDrive account as well as create folders and rename, move, or delete files. OneDrive is listed in the Open , Save , and Save As commands in the Backstage view. When you open the Save As or Open dialog box, OneDrive is one of the listed folders. In Excel Options , you can set OneDrive as your default save location. MORE INFO Do not store sensitive documents online. No online account is completely safe. Use OneDrive in a File Explorer Window In a Windows 10 File Explorer window, OneDrive is a storage location, similar to your Documents or Pictures folders (Figure 10-34). The difference between your OneDrive folder and other Windows folders is the physical location. When you save a workbook in the Documents folder on This PC , the file is stored on your computer. You have access to the file only from your computer. When you save a document in your OneDrive folder, the workbook is stored in the cloud, and you have access to the file from any computer with Internet access. MORE INFO To access your OneDrive folder from a File Explorer window, you must be logged in to your Microsoft account. MORE INFO You can download and install the OneDrive desktop app for Windows for use in Windows 7 or 8. After installation, the OneDrive folder is available in the File Explorer window. 10-34 OneDrive folder displayed in a File Explorer window + + + + + + + + + + + +

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
