4.1 Refrigerant Refrigerant purpose The working fluid in a refrigeration or heat pump system. Absorbs heat while undergoing phase change (evaporator). Compressed to a higher pressure and temperature (heat rejection - condenser) Suitability depends on thermodynamic and physical properties.
