Module 1 Homework - Risk Assessment Recommended Preparation: A. What is Risk Assessment (aka Risk Analysis or Risk Calculation)? What is it important for organizations to perform periotic risk assessments? B. Who is NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) and what do they do? C. Review NIST publication number 800-30 which is available at http://csrc.nist.gov/publications/nistpubs/800-30-rev1/sp800_30_r1.pdf Note: if the link does not work, use your favorite search engine to search for NIST 800-30. Just scroll through and briefly see what types of information are available in NIST special publications such as this one. By no means do you have to read every word or memorize this document. I just want you to have some exposure to this resource that you could use in your future career. Specifically take a look at the tables D-3 through D-8 (starts on page 66). These tables show that risks can be categorized in a variety of different scales. You could use (High, Medium, Low) or use values such as (100, 90, 80, etc.).

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
