She tried to become intimately acquainted with three girls from contiguous villages on the island of Tau and to figure out their psychological problems, the technique of academic inquiry Mead used was that of a subjective semi-attached scholar, utilizing a social constructionist perspective and the technique she used was outlined in Appendix 11(pp. 250-265), as it was described in the book, it tells us that her study took over a period of nine months.
