Surname 1 Name Course Professor Date Introduction After going through The Great Gatsby it will not be wrong to say that the book a classic novel in which cash is the center of many characters' lives; however, that cash could not buy happiness. The author tries to emphasize the fact that wealth has a very big impact on people’s lives. When one reads this book the sure thing that will cross his/her mind is that wealth doesn’t seem to make anyone in the story happy. This book is one of the classic book of 20 th century literature, which brings to life America’s Jazz Age, “gin was the national drink and sex the national obsession” as the New York Times puts it. Nick who is a veteran of the Great War and a Yale graduate moves to long Island, with eager of leaving his born town behind.
