Allejandra Chavez 001 Chemical Equilibrium and Le Chatelier’s principle 4/2 Data and Calculations 1. In part A of the experiment I observed that the color of the solution with Co(NO 3 ) 2 6H 2 O after adding a few crystals was pink meaning in it was [Co(H 2 O) 2+ ]. The solution with HCl after a few crystals was blue meaning in it was [CoCl 4 2- ]. 2. Test Tube #1 The addition of HCl increase the amount of products causing the equilibrium to shift the reactants to reach equilibrium. The addition of H 2 O increased the amount of reactants causing the equilibrium to shift towards the products to reach equilibrium. This is an endothermic reaction were heat is a reactant. This resulted in an shift to the products [CoCl4] 2- (blue color) when the heat was increased o When I decreased the heat the reaction shifted to make more reactants [Co(H 2 O)] 2+ (pink color). Test tube #2 Test Tube #3 Description of conditions Prediction of what will happen Observations of procedure Formula of predominant Species Initial Solution N/A Pink [Co(H 2 O)] 2+ Addition of LiCl Blue Blue

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
