In this set of materials, the reading passage argues that using hydrogen-based fuel cell engines is better than using internal-combustion engines. However, the listening passage disagrees with the reading passage and gives the opposing argument. Most of all, the reading passage claims that hydrogen fuel-cell engines utilize easily available materials such as water and natural gas. As internal combustion engines rely on petroleum, which is a finite resource, people will not be able to continue using it in the near future. On the other hand, as hydrogen can be derived from various plentiful sources such as water and natural gas, people will not have to worry about its availability. However, the listening passage claims that hydrogen is not an easily available material. To use hydrogen- based engines, people need pure liquid hydrogen. It is hard to produce and store pure liquid hydrogen. Also, the pure liquid hydrogen must be stored in a very cold place. As a result, using hydrogen is not a practical solution as it cannot be used easily.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
