Module 6 Discussion: Immunity an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure . it's easier to stop something from happening in the first place than to repair the damage after it has happened. Vaccines play an important role in keeping us healthy. They protect us from serious and sometimes deadly diseases. Immunizations can help protect us if we are going to be traveling internationally. With global air travel rising, there is an increased risk of exposure to infectious diseases abroad. Vaccines save money, it is cost effective. Vaccines cost less in time and money to obtain than infectious diseases cost in time off of work to care for a sick child, potential long-term disability care, and medical costs. One advantages of vaccines here in the Unites States is because of continued and widespread immunization in the United States, it ’s rare for A mericans to get polio. Vaccines are tested before they ’re recommended for use . It is safe and can save children s lives. The American Academy of Pediatrics states that "most childhood vaccines are 90%-99% effective in preventing disease." But there is always a bad side of everything like
