Homework 1 1. Describe the different parts of a computer and how they relate to computer programs. Computer are composed of CPU’s, Primary Storage, Secondary Storage, Input Devices, and Output Devices. A CPU is a central processing unit and is kind of like the brain of the computer. It is responsible for executing a sequence of stored instructions called a program. Hard drive is the storage on a computer and is where all your programs and data are stored. Primary Storage stores programs and data for immediate access. This storage component is temporary though because it is lost when the computer is shut off. Secondary storage stores programs and data for later access. It runs slower than primary storage, but can be retained even when the computer is turned off. Input devices are the parts of a computer that get plugged in to and input and create some sort of output such as a keyboard or mouse. The output devices are things like the monitor and printer. 2. Describe the different types of programming languages and how they are related.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
