Chapter 12 1. When using the 7 S model to create alignment, why do managers need to make sure all the align with the organization’s strategy? What problems follow misalignment? Any company that implements a strategy needs to make sure that the strategy’s elements fit in well with each other. In other words, they must align, otherwise misalignment will follow. Some issues that follow misalignment include disconnect between leadership and others and, most importantly, a disconnect between values and the overall six S’s in the structure. 2. What tools do managers have to realign the hard triangle? The soft square? Whenever there is an misalignment within a hard triangle or a soft square, change is required of managers and overall leadership. The steps in order to enact change include (1) unfreezing the model – you need to recognize the problem and address it, (2) change the problem, and (3) refreeze – which is formalizing the new change and creating new behavior to ensure the change stays in place.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
