There were a few examples portrayed in the movie regarding the principles of stratification, from the distinction of class and race, class and gender, etc. The first example in the movie is when Sandra Bullock’s character got scared when she saw two African-American men walking on the side walk, so she grabbed onto her husband’s arm. Sandra Bullock in the movie is in a higher class, so she saw two black men who she established to possibly are from a lower class walking in her direction. The stratification she had against the two African-American individuals was based on race, gender, and class. The second example is when the African-American couple in the movie got pulled over by the white male police officers. The police officer that already seemed racist and had prejudice against African-Americans; which is one form of the stratification based on race. The police officer asked for the man to step out of the vehicle to see if he was intoxicated and it angered the wife, so she stepped out. Once the wife stepped out of the vehicle the
