Running Head: Compound Inequalities 10 2 + 4 x < 20 is my assigned “and” compound inequality. In other words, (2 + 4x) should be greater than or equal to 10, and also (2 + 4x) should be less than 20. To get the proper inequality I will have to solve the compound inequality as one as shown below: 10 2 + 4 x < 20 10 2 2 2 + 4 x < 20 2 First, I subtracted 2 from the 3 parts and got 8 4 x < 18 8 4 4 x 4 < 18 4 Then, I divided the 3 parts by 4 and got 2 ≤ x < 4.5 This is the answer to the compound inequality. The answer means that for the inequality to be true, the value of x should be greater than or equal to 2 and also the value should be less than 4.5. [2, 4.5) Is the interval notation. ¿ (− ∞ , 4.5 ) Is the intersection of the sets. <………… […………|……………………)…………….> Is the number line graph of the inequality 2 0 4.5

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
