How is human worth/value measured in Willy’s world? In Willy’s world, human worth/value is measured by how “well liked” that person is as well as their personal talent. According to Willy, people who are successful are well liked. For example, in the play, Willy tells his sons that he will open a business that is more successful than his neighbor Uncle Charley simply because he thinks the he is liked better than Charley (Miller). Willy’s philosophy for success is based upon how popular someone is. Those who are popular will be more successful than those who are not. 2. Where does this value system come from? Does it reflect aspects of American values? Which characters embody it?
