D2 Brad Manning, "Arm Wrestling with my Dad", depicts the relationship and communication between a son and father. Although, the passage is a son speaking about the relationship between his father and himself I feel as though the general concept could pertain to anyone. The reader/audience for this essay is geared towards just about any and everybody. The thesis concept as I understand it is that although a relationship between two individuals may seem as if it will remain the same the relationship may change over time. Both individuals can have a change within themselves over time, or ones outlook may change enabling a change in the other individual as well. The key points illustrate how the father and the son's relationship was more physical but over time it changed to seem more emotional than physical.
