Ruya Adly Professor Bailey DAN 105.35 19 February 2018 Dancing: Dance at the Court Outline Dance can be used to show power like in England. It could be used to show to show solidarity, such as with the Asante people. It could also be used to show respect, like in courts in Japan. Some dances such as ballet, holds the same traditions globally. Regardless if it is done in New or Moscow, ballet holds a very similar traditional style. This is due to Louis XIV, a warrior kind who understood the power of dance. To gain totally power, he built a great palace where many nobles came to live. Louis XIV placed great importance on the form of dance, just as on the form of fighting. He staged many great stage sceneries to where the nobles would compete. Included was opera, dance, and other arts. The Royal Academy of Dance was the first that Louis XIV formed, it was a way to show his power If one was noble they were expected to be well versed in dance. This was extremely important to hold one’s place in court.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
