If I Could Only Sleep! 2 Adults require at least 7 to 9 hours of sleep a night to wake up the next morning feeling refreshed. In this day and age that is often hard to obtain. With the economy being what it is and people being required to work long hours or more than one job to support their families people often lack the time to be able to sleep. I myself am a mother to two teenagers, work full time, am going to school, and am currently pregnant. I am lucky if I get 5 hours of sleep a night. There are often times I don't know whether I am coming or going and sleep is not my top priority at this time. “Despite the mood swings, grogginess, and lack of focus associated with chronic sleep loss, several scary conditions can result from long-term sleep loss and sleep deprivation,” (Roberts, 2017).
