4/13/2017 Homework Pg. 656-657 CIS 110 1. Technology does not exist in a world of its own. It is designed and deployed within the context of societies and economies. Healthcare.gov was affected by political divisions over the Affordable Care Act, What was the stated purpose of the PPACA? How many people was it expected to serve? Which political party supported the bill? Why? Which political party opposed the bill? Why? Answer: The purpose of the PPACA was to lower the cost of health insurance and decrease the number or uninsured Americans. It was to serve about 5 million of Americans Democrats supported the bill. Why? Democratic view on health care is based around the idea that accessible, affordable, high quality health care is the American promise, that Americans should have the security that comes with good health care. Democrats believe that no American should have to face financial destitution because they fall ill or get injured. Republicans believe it will destroy the economy, by forcing businesses to spend more on health care costs and compliance and, in some cases, by hiring part-time workers instead of full-time ones. 2. After failure of the original HealthCare.gov Website, a team of private sector IT professionals was hired to create HealthCare.gov 2.0. What can you learn about this development project? Can you identify various stages of the SDLC that they followed?

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
