FILM EVALUATION 2 Film Evaluation – Indiana Jones/Raiders of the Lost Ark The film under scrutiny is entitled Indiana Jones/Raiders of the Lost Ark released on 12 th June 1981. Steven Spielberg directed the film whereas George Lucas and Lawrence Kasdan are the film’s writers. The protagonist in the film is Dr. Indiana Jones (featuring as Harrison Ford in the film) whereas the Nazis and Rene Belloq are the antagonists [Wig17]. The film depicts how Jones, an archeologist, journeyed in South American jungles in pursuit of finding a golden statue in 1936. Marcus Brody, a museum curator, informs Jones of an ancient artifact situated somewhere in North Africa (specifically Egypt and Nepal). This particular artifact is the biblical Ark of the Covenant. In his venture, he faces great rivalry from the Nazis and Belloq, his worst adversary [Wig17]. Archaeologists are respected people in the American society as well as all over the world. This is because they are aimed at discovering ancient treasures and artifacts that can rewrite or buttress historical notions. The
