Design thinking Methodology: In design thinking, we formulate an idea, we test the idea for its effectiveness and then implement the idea. During each phase, we learn from the feedback and then improve the idea. Let us consider an example to illustrate the design thinking methodology. Design phase: We are creating a ‘gift box’ service, where we send a ‘gift’ to the customer every month. The gift is based on what the customer likes, their profession, age and where they live. Concepting the phase: We create different categories of gift box with respect to the subscription fees. We have three categories of gift box; classic, premium and supreme. Prototyping phase: We select a set of 100 customers, and present to them a survey form to get a detailed understanding about their likes and dislikes. Later using the concept of machine learning we figure out different gift options. These gift options are also influenced by the subscription model that the user has selected. We also make sure that the gift boxes are not repeated for any given user. We let the set of 100 customers use the model for a period of 6 months, in which a user can stop the subscription at any given point of time. During each of these phases we learn from the feedback and experience. Based on these inputs we try to improve the product.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
