DRUGS & CRIME 2 Abstract In this paper you learn about the effect in drugs and the main focus is on LSD. You would learn what is LSD and how it plays in the world of drugs and crime. You will also get to know the history of LSD, on how did it start and how was it found. Importantly you would get the knowing of how it affects your life and what are the consequences. Some of the sign and symptoms when it is at use. Also what could be some of the consequence when you get caught with LSD.

DRUGS & CRIME 3 What is LSD? LSD is a hallucinogenic. Hallucinogenic drugs change the way you sense the world around you. LSD stands for Lysergic Acid Diethylamide. LSD is odorless, colorless, and tasteless. It can be painted onto small squares of paper that people lick or swallow. It can be known as “acid” LSD is sold on the street in small tablets, capsules or gelatin squares. It is sometimes added to absorbent paper, which is then divided into small squares decorated with designs or cartoon characters (“loony toons”). LSD is one of the most potent, mood-changing chemicals. It is manufactured from lysergic acid, which is found in the ergot fungus that grows on rye and other grains. It is produced in crystal form in illegal laboratories, mainly in the United States. These crystals are converted to a liquid for distribution. 1 st thing what is a Hallucinogens and what are other streets names for LSD. A hallucinogen are drugs that cause hallucinations. Users see images, hear sounds and feel sensations that seem very real but do not exist. Some hallucinogens also produce sudden and unpredictable changes in the mood of those who use them. Some of the street names are California sunshine, heavenly blue, purple heart, loony toons, yellow sunshine, and golden dragon.
