This website is a beginner’s guide to music history. It includes an introduction into different periods of music such as medieval, renaissance, baroque, classical, romantic and 20 th century styles. It also includes links that give more in depth history lessons within each different style of music. I found this especially helpful for the styles I was less familiar with like medieval and renaissance. This website had pictures of instruments and then also included a brief description of the instrument and how they related to other instruments. I found this website helpful because it also broke down which larger group each belonged to such as the flute belongs in the woodwinds. This helps a beginning music student distinguish which instruments are similar and different. This website also has many other helpful links such as how to enjoy a concert, musical history, and a glossary of musical terms.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
