The Process of Persuasion When building your persuasive speech, remember to do audience analysis. To me, persuasion is more difficult than informing. Your audience may actively resist your message. So, you should consider your audience and their position on your topic so you can target the most effective means of persuading them. Awareness You have no doubt heard of the dangers of second hand smoke. But have you ever heard of third hand smoke? (Look it up later.) In order to be persuaded, your audience has to have an awareness of the issue to start out. This is why so many persuasive campaigns start out with an awareness campaign. At different times we have been focused on important issues through awareness campaigns: “Save the Whales” or “Dolphin Free Tuna” or “Kony 2012” or most famously perhaps, “Breast Cancer.” Understanding Just being aware of it isn’t sufficient. In order to make an informed decision, your audience has to understand the issue and their options for dealing with it.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
