1929-1945 – The battle of Ortona and D-Day Characters: Grandma, Grandchild Battle Of Ortona Grandma: It’s time for bed! Grandchild: But, grandma! Please, just five more minutes, please!! Grandma: No buts! If you hurry, I can read you a story. Grandchild: Ok, fiiine. 5 minutes later – Grandchild is in bed and grandma is reading grandchild a story (Grandma looks for a story to read from their bookshelf) Grandma: Ah, this book is good. ‘The Canadian History Book For Kids’ Grandchild: That sounds boring grandma. Grandma: Too bad. When I was your age I thought it was boring too, but I learned quiet a bit from it. (Grandma opens first page) Grandma: Once upon a time.. Flashback Voiceover (grandma talking): During the First World War, Canada was not doing very well in the beginning. After the disastorous raid on Dieppe, the fortunes of war began to change for the allies. The battle of Ortona marked the biggest test for Canadian troops and their first victory.
