Progress Evaluation #1 - Before The film that I have decided to watch for this assignment is Winchester , on February 1st. I will be going to Forum 8, a local movie theater in Columbia, Missouri. It is the smaller of the two options here in Columbia, but more comfortable with good service and concessions. As a moviegoer, I would say that my interests align very much with the general public. I usually go see the blockbusters and popular movies. More than that, I also enjoy the movie theater itself. I like the environment, the people, and the popcorn. My movie theater of choice in Columbia is Forum 8 because I feel that although the other theater in Columbia is bigger, Forum 8 has a better atmosphere. Going to the movies is actually a favorite pastime of mine, so much so that I purchased a MoviePass. It is a subscription that allows me to basically go see one movie a day at participating theaters. The local movie theater, Forum 8 accepts it so I usually go see a movie every week or two. I have been watching a lot more movies recently as well, such as Boo! A Madea Halloween , Jigsaw , Coco, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle , The Greatest Showman, and Pitch Perfect 3 . These are all films that reflect the type of films I enjoy watching. There is a bit of a variety which demonstrates that I do not usually confine myself to a single genre. My past experiences as a child really formed my habits with movies. When I was younger, maybe 7 or 8 years of age, my mom would take my siblings and I to see whatever movie was playing during the free movie mornings at Forum 8. This was one of my favorite things to do. I think this also influenced my attachment to the movie theater. It allowed my imagination to grow and created memories with my family and of some of my favorite childhood movies. It is a simple way to bond with the people you go with, through the act of going to the theater and through the experience of watching a film together.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
