Surname 1 Name: Lecturer: Course: Date: Physicians Moving to Mid-size, Single-Specialty Practices Since 1996, the number and size of group practices have increased as the solo, and one partner practices became towards as the processes progressed from 1996 to 2005. Currently, medical practitioners are not able to practice solely as there are many financial constraints which have forced them to indulge in mid-sized practices to gain various economies of scale by spreading their costs over a relatively large number of professionals. The data provided reveals that smaller groups and sole practices have continuously decreased while the formation of larger groups intensified. For instance, it is evident that six to 50 physician indulgences elevated from around 13% to 17% between 1996 to 1997 and 2004 to 2005 (Liebhaber and Grossman). This means that there is a reduction in the solo practices and smaller groups with an increase in the number and size of larger practices which help the practitioners to minimize fixed costs as they are spread over a large number of people.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
