Class, Here is your discussion for Week 2: In today's changing healthcare environment, it is more important than ever for professional nurses to be skilled in collaborating with professionals from other healthcare disciplines. What communication strategies can professional nurses use to specifically promote collaboration with other healthcare disciplines and professionals? I am glad we debate on this topic, I feel communication is the most significant weakness in professional healthcare world today and need a substantial improvement in many ways, and the changes first have to start with our self. I am currently working on the same topic for my Journal Club, and it is the reason behind. Our Healthcare environment changing every day, amount of work increase tremendously in every aspect of healthcare and as a result automatically reflect on our teamwork, communication and patient care. Lately, we have a lot of conflicts between nurses and nurse’s assistance personnel. At the time, anger, misunderstanding, confrontation and ignore creating a struggle in communication with each other and reflect on patient care. Of course, these issues have explanations and foremost of them shortness of staff and patients overload. We spend a lot of energy working and giving a lot of emotional support to our patients which is a priority, and it is hard to lose part of our vitality during communication issues. I start to ask myself how I can change myself and my view of the situation to understand everybody and make communication easy and smooth. My Intention brings me to humanity, morals, respect, and understanding. I
