Ownership of the means of production(?), distribution, and exchange of wealth is made and maintained by private individuals or corporations Pursuit of profit is the driving force of capitalist accumulation Under capitalism the state is separated from economics (production and trade), just like the state is separated from religion Capitalism is the system of laissez faire (free market) The system of endless accumulation of capital, produces the most productive society but also the most unequal distribution of wealth among society
