Bioethics Committee Bioethics addresses the ethical issues that occur between among health care professionals. Ethical behavior that regulates and controls the healthcare settings is another definition of bioethics. The discipline of bioethics is practiced throughout the healthcare field and its departments. Life and death situations are one of the aspects that bioethics oversees the decision making. Bioethics focuses on the way of thinking as well as behavior that health professionals use in their daily decision making. The discipline of bioethics focuses on the well being of the patient and the services provided. Ethics help to ensure that patients best interest is at hand while it stays confidential. The dignity of the patient is honored under bioethics which creates an environment of comfort for the patient as well as the caregiver. The ethics committee includes individuals from various backgrounds who oversee the healthcare organization. The committee appointed by the hospital medical executive board which is made of doctors, nurses, lawyers, and clergy who assist families as well as healthcare professionals in receiving the help they need during situations where ethical questions evolve. The purpose of the committee has three primary focus which includes: teachings about up to date issues regarding clinical morals, clinic ethics discussions, and emerging or revising rules about scientific ethics and hospital rules (Scolforo et al., 2016). Advance directives, consent orders, organ obtaining, and withholding or retreating life-sustained action. Interview with Chairman I spoke with a local health center chairman of the bioethics in my area and interviewed him regarding the use and function of the committee. The chairman began by explaining to me what the committee is about and its history. He spoke about the establishment of the bioethics 2

Bioethics Committee committee back in the late 1980’s. Adding how the joint commission accreditation of healthcare requires the need for a resolution when ethical dilemmas in patient care develop thus the bioethics committee is essential.
