Chapter 20 Review Questions 2-3 The National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) was created back in 1935, and it ensures that the fundamental right to employees is guaranteed in the private sector. This acts allows employees to have the ability to form trade unions, as well as demand safe work conditions and, will enable them to hold strikes when needed. An employee under the act excluded anyone with authority at the hospital. In section 2(11) the act eliminated supervisors fro being considered employees due to the influence and interest of the employer. The first example that NLRA is violated in a hospital is where management supports elections of one of the representatives of the union body of the employees. The control of a union by a hospital is prohibited. This type of action violates section 8(a)(2) where employees are not able to form a labor union, and this hinders its formation.
