PAYMENT FOR ECOSYSTEM SERVICES FROM FORESTS Payment for Ecosystem Services from Forests The research aimed at discussing the most recent developments on the review of how the payment for the ecosystem services can be utilized in addressing the key drivers of deforestation. Thus, the article was mainly meant to complement the existing knowledge and widen the PES concept through the examination of afforestation and reforestation PES efforts. The research employed article review method to address the main research problem. In this regard, a review was done on the demand and supply of the various forest ecosystem services at different levels which included the local, regional or national and global public goods. In the case of the local goods, it was found that such goods are majorly associated with the preservation of the forests and expansion of the hydrological services among other services. Therefore, at the local level there are private buyers of the goods. At the regional
