Chapter 21 Questions 5 & 8 5. Discuss what actions an employer can take in order to help reduce the necessity for discharging an employee. Managers can take caution to help reduce the necessity for discharging an employee. There are key points to focus on to prevent reaching that stage. The first point is to make sure that the employee is fit for the job they will perform before hiring them. Focusing that they have all the skills they need to be able to complete the task. Second is providing the training the employee needs in order to perform their role and succeed in it. A third aspect is building a team that will support each other as well as creates a well-cultured work environment. A fourth aspect a manager should focus on is motivation and support from the management team. This helps to build and motivate the employees to work performance levels (Lavanya, 2015). The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
