Welter Jeff Wood DFP- 101 21 January 2015 Segmentation Essay In the 2013 film “Man of steel”, Superman also known as Kal El is in need to es- cape from his dying home planet Krypton in order to survive and grow up. At this period of time Kal El is just a newborn baby. Jor El, Kal El’s father, the one that's trying to save his son and the species by encoding the Codex in to Kal El’s DNA. Though this may seem heroic, citizens of krypton do not agree with Jor El’s decision. The one who op- poses the action the most is a man named general Zod. General Zod is Superman's en- emy throughout the film. When superman leaves krypton and arrives at Earth, he finds that it is very hard to belong in human society without being made fun of or looked at weird. However, once he found who he was meant to be everything changed for Super- man. At first people found him to be an alien menace, but once they found that he was fighting on their side they looked up to him as their Savior. And with the help of the hu-
