Douglas County Justice Center Security System Upgrade Touch Screen Control and Management System June, 2011 SECTION 28 4623 TOUCH SCREEN CONTROL AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEM PART 1 - GENERAL 1.1 DESCRIPTION A. General: 1. Furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and services for a touch screen control and management system as indicated in accord with provisions of Contract Documents. 2. Completely coordinate with work of all other trades. 3. Although such work is not specifically indicated, furnish and install all supplementary or miscellaneous items, appurtenances and devices incidental to or necessary for a sound, secure and complete installation. 4. See Division 01 for General Requirements. B. Related work specified elsewhere: 1. Common Work Results for Electronic Security: Section 28 0510 2. Video Surveillance System: Section 28 2300 3. Electronic Control System: Section 28 4619 4. Digital Intercom and Paging System: Section 28 5123 1.2 BASIS OF DESIGN A. Touch screen control and management system shall provide the means to control and monitor all security devices in the facilities via the electronic control system. Additionally it shall provide archiving of events to a database with ability to generate reports from that database. B. All existing touch screen stations shall be removed and replaced with the new touch screen stations. New CPU, touch screen monitor and graphic user interface (GUI) software shall be provided for each station. All existing control and monitoring functions shall be transferred to the new touch screen system. C. The system shall consist of multiple new Touch Screen Control Stations, an Administration Station, a Report and Monitoring Station, a File Server, and a report printer. The touch screen control stations, the administration station, the report and monitoring station, and the file servers shall be connected to an Ethernet network for communications and control. E. The touch screen control stations shall be for the purpose of control and monitoring of security systems in the facility. The Administration Station shall be used for administrative functions such as diagnostics, software and file back-up and restoration, report generation, etc. The report printer shall be connected to the administrative station. The report and monitoring station provides access to the system information from a non-secure location. The file server shall be located in the equipment room adjacent to the central control room.
