Projection- we project our opinions onto the candidate they like 3. Government performance: a. Retrospective Voting-voting on basis of past performance of the incumbent administration b. Prospective voting-voting on the basis of what the candidate is promising to do i. Ex. consumer confidence index-survey done that measures basically how confident people are feeling in the economy ii. Whether people are more/less likely to spend iii.
