Fraser International College COMMUNICATION STUDIES 110 – SPRING 2018 Instructor: Caitlin Turner MASS CULTURE ASSIGNMENT At the Metrotown Mall, Burnaby. Directions and Instructions. NOTE: You MUST attend the lecture, and do the assigned readings BEFORE you start this assignment. The Mass Culture Assignment will be handed out in class, and you will complete it at the Metrotown Mall, in Burnaby, BC. The assignment will take about 60-90 minutes to complete. You can work in small groups, or by yourself. Then, everyone must take the assignment home, and answer the questions on the assignment individually. You have until 11:59pm on SUNDAY, APRIL 1 st to finish this assignment. Your answers should be posted to Moodle, do not email them to me. Please compile all your answers in a Word Document or PDF. You do not have to type out the individual question, but make it clear which question number you are answering. The Metrotown Mall is very easy to get to. If you are driving to the mall, check Google Maps. Just search for “Metrotown Mall, Burnaby”. There is lots of parking available. Metrotown Mall is also accessible by the SkyTrain, the station is Metrotown Station on the Expo Line. Please, if you have never been to this mall before, consider taking the SkyTrain. NOTE: You are in a shopping mall, which is Private Property. DO NOT take photographs when you are in stores! If an employee asks you to stop taking photographs, or to stop writing notes in their store, please do as they say. Leave the store immediately, and contact me. If Mall Security approaches you, please answer their questions as truthfully as you can. You are a student at FIC (at Simon Fraser University), doing an assignment. Your instructor is CAITLIN TURNER. She will be happy to discuss any concerns with security or management at Metrotown.
