Joseph 1 Kateline Joseph Dr. Joseph ENC 1102 29 January 2018 Online Assignment # 1: 1. “A Good Man Is Hard to Find” by Flannery O’Connor The main focal point or question comes up in the story is what a “good” man. Everyone in this story had different morals/ethics that they believe and live by. This causes bias, every character in this story considered themselves as “good” people. These moral codes are deeply flawed however, leaving each character blinded by their own self-righteousness. The Grandmother trusted that she was the best and that essentially everybody ought to resemble her. The storyteller made it a point on how she would look downward on other individuals also. In the start of the story, she reprimands the mother for " not taking the children to different parts of the world and being broad", and discloses to John Wesley that he " should be more respectful of his native state and his parents". The Grandmother was judgmental towards everybody except neglected to see her own deceptive nature, bad faith, and narrow-mindedness.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
