Shanna Beyer 1a. It would be considered an inability to manage others’ emotions. It can decrease with our desire to learn. Being easily stressed, for example, can have a negative impact on one’s work environment and one’s peers. People in charge may have difficulty asserting themselves, thus confusing instructions for one’s employees. Having someone in charge with low EI can lead to lower morale, lower productivity, and bad communications. If people feel they cannot speak to the person in charge because they seem like they don’t care or cannot fix the problem because they cannot assert themselves with a solution, people will tend to keep themselves. 1b. The signs I would look for in myself are whether I can control my emotions, and if I am aware of my emotions. I know when I am angry I feel I don’t really recognize it at first. I start making comments or behave in a way I don’t usually act. It takes me a while to become aware of my emotions.
