Those filters will be cascaded to obtain second order filters and band-pass filters. Also a band pass filter with high quality will be studied. Preliminary Work 1. The circuit below is of a high pass filter. Construct that filter using 1 kΩ resistance as R 1 , 1.5 kΩ as R 2 , and 470nF as capacitor. Figure 1 𝑓 𝑐 = 1 2𝜋 ∙ 𝜏 = 1 2𝜋 ∙ 𝑅 1 ∙ 𝐶 Using PSpice plot magnitude and the phase of the frequency response function H(j ) = V o (j )/V i (j ) of the filter above. Indicate the cutoff (half-power) angular frequency, c . What is the gain of the filter? 2. Consider the high pass filter of previous part. Connect two of those filters back to back to construct a second order filter. Figure 2 Using PSpice plot magnitude and the phase of the frequency response function of that second order filter. Compare response of it with the previous first order filter.
