Matthew Marino AML 2580-01 Jason Dubow May 28, 2015 Essay #12: Two Sides of the Same Coin Vietnam is a very talked about issue in the United States since it occurred in the late 60’s, early 70’s. The reason for this is because many people saw it as wrong, and that we had no reason to be involved with the fighting in Vietnam. Many people blamed the soldier for the war because they were the ones pulling the trigger killing hundreds of people. Others may not agree with the war but they didn’t blame the soldiers, but rather the government who sent them there. In the documentary Regret to Inform , and the articles An Atrocity Is Uncovered: November 1969 , and The Scene of the Crime we see how peoples views from both sides are very different. In the documentary Regret to Inform we hear stories from the wives of soldiers who fought in Vietnam, many of which died there, and Vietnamese women who experienced it first hand. There was one American woman who had lost her husband that addresses this issue. She said how she never knew exactly what her
