MALNUTRITION 2 Malnutrition According to WHO Report (2012), malnutrition is a health problem affecting many people in the word. The report suggests that malnutrition is caused by lack of basic nutrients in food or total lack of healthy food. Malnutrition is also a leading cause of infant deaths in developing countries. In fact, one-third of total infant deaths is caused by lack of healthy food. Malnutrition has led to overstretching of health services in both developing and developed countries. The problem is dire especially in children who lack the relevant body building blocks such a proteins, vitamins, and carbohydrates. As such, the risk of getting other diseases becomes high, thus endangering lives. To address the problem, heath education and health promotion is paramount. It is important to educate people on how to balance their meals to ensure that all relevant nutrients are present. Moreover, health promotion should touch on how individual suffering from malnutrition
