Stage 1: Background and Organizational Analysis IFSM 300 7381 Information Systems in Organizations (2178) Introduction: Chesapeake IT Consultants (CIC) provides services as a proven IT firm. The company uses different types of managing is to accomplish results for their customers. The client base that the company offers services to is both non-profit and for-profit organization and the different government agencies. CIC currently has a supply of 400 people who can work for the company. The company has three various locations, with their headquarters located in Baltimore Maryland. The current leader of the firm and CEO of CIC is Alvin Morrison. Mr. Morrison net-worth is currently worth eight million dollars. The firm has two significant contacts shortly that will require additional workers to get the job done in timely fashion. The majority of the work done by the firm's consultants is on location at the job site. Organizational Strategy: CIC's business strategy excels in providing extraordinary consulting services and ideas to their customers by hiring skilled consultants. Being a mile ahead regarding new business concepts and best practices of their workers is another point in excelling in excellent customer service. CIC passion for staying as the leader in the field of IT for the short-term and long-term is being undermined by the hiring system that is currently in place. People who have worked in the firm are concerned that the system that is not efficient enough to the demands of CIC. demands with manual processes. I am also interested in solutions that are easy-to-use and can interface with our existing systems and enhance processes.'' Having a new hiring would make the completion of tasks easier to complete. For the consumers, accomplishing strategic objectives and goals the company implements a new system that will work strategies and plans. (Basics of the Strategic Planning Process. (n.d.).) Components of an Information System: People and Technology: CEO – Alvin Morrison's problem with hiring is trying to fit which best-qualified person will do the job and meet goals of the contracts now and the future. A better hiring system would make sure that the most skills brought to work, and represent the firm while doing fieldwork. CFO - Marianne Cho's primary concerns as the current CFO of the company are to adopt any new technology that is not too expensive. A new system would provide a better way to streamline the hiring process of the best candidates, and the employee's skills and certifications. CIO - The system that needs to be in place has followed the business structure as followed. The current business model must find the way to keep the current model together without any disruptions to the personal. CIC is an up a coming company, so products that are flexible would be beneficial.
