Organization- a social system comprised of various individuals (components) hat organize and coordinate their efforts in order to achieve goals (collective and individual) Defining Organizations: The term organizations flexible and can represent a variety of entities Categories of organizations 1. Many use the term organization to refer to business and other profit driven entities 2. Non-profit, governmental, community, and interest based organizations (ex. American Red Cross, NASA, UB) 3. The term virtual organization can be used to describe an organization (or the aspects of an organization) which rely primarily on non-physical interaction (ex. Reddit, amazon, wiki)
